Seafood Restaurant in Sarandë

The Ionian is fifty metres from our tables, and the menu shows it. Every morning we buy what the Sarandë boats land, then grill, bake or fold it into pasta the same day.

The daily catch, cooked simply

Whole seabass and gilthead bream are grilled over charcoal with olive oil, lemon and sea salt — no heavy sauces hiding the fish. Larger fish are baked in salt crust for two to share. Prawns and langoustines go on the plancha with garlic; octopus is slow-cooked until it gives, then finished on the grill.

Ask the kitchen what came in that morning. The specials board is the honest version of the menu, and it changes with the weather more than with the season.

Seafood beyond the grill

Seafood linguine with the day's catch is the plate that leaves the kitchen most often, followed by shell mussels in white wine and garlic. There is also a seafood risotto, fritto misto for the table, and crudo when the fish is right for it.

For groups we build mixed platters for four to ten people — call at least a day ahead so we can reserve enough of the catch.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the fish fresh or frozen?

Fresh. We buy from Sarandë fishermen each morning and cook it the same day. When a species is unavailable we take it off the board rather than substitute frozen stock.

Can I choose my own fish?

Yes — whole fish are shown and weighed at the table, and priced per kilogram in Lek before cooking.

Do you cater for guests who don't eat seafood?

Of course. The menu also carries grilled meats, pasta, risotto, salads and vegetarian plates.
