Restaurants in Sarandë: What to Expect

Sarandë eats late, outdoors and by the sea. This is a short, honest guide to how restaurants here work — written by a kitchen that has been on the promenade since 1995.

How dining works here

Most kitchens open mid-morning and serve continuously until late; dinner rarely starts before 20:00 in summer. Whole fish is sold per kilogram, so ask for the weight and price before it goes on the grill — every honest restaurant will show you. Prices are in Lek, and cards are widely accepted along the promenade.

Tipping is not obligatory. Rounding up, or leaving five to ten percent when the service deserves it, is normal.

Choosing a table

Terraces facing the water fill first between 19:30 and 21:00 in July and August. If you want the sunset, book ahead or arrive by 19:00. Inside seating is cooler at midday and quieter for longer dinners.

At Krahu i Shqiponjës we hold both: a seafront terrace on Bulevardi Hasan Tahsini and a dining room a few steps behind it, open every day from 10:00 to 23:30.
